CTFC SECURES CUSTOMISED SECTOR PROGRAMME FUNDING FOR FASHION CLUSTER

Earlier this year the Cape Town Fashion Council applied for funding from the DTI's Clothing and Textile Competitiveness Improvement Programme (CTCIP) grant scheme to establish a Fashion Cluster from which qualified design brands would gain direct benefits.

Some direct benefits for design brands would be: improved understanding of how to grow a successful clothing brand, financial support to investigate new retail partnerships, potential for access to a wider variety of fabrics in small quantities, at better prices  and with faster response times.

On 07 September the DTI confirmed that the CTFC would be granted the funding (R12.4 million over three years) with which to carry out this initiative.
