Gwyneth tackles jeans.
First it was a simple white t-shirt that garnered Gwyneth Paltrow’s approval, now it’s a pair of jeans that has everybody talking. As part of her lifestyle website, goop.com, Paltrow has been promising new and exclusive fashion collaborations.
Two weeks ago, following a re-design of the site, the award-winning actress and face of Boss Nuit Pour Femme perfume, showed off her first exclusive creation in the form of a plain old white T-shirt. As part of her e-commerce shop, Goop Collection, the simple wardrobe basic was created together with Kain Label, and sells for $90.
Late last week, Paltrow kept her promise again and returned with another designer exclusive in the form of a limited edition pair of jeans. This time around, Paltrow has teamed up with British luxury label MiH.
The MiH-Goop exclusive design costs $200, and boasts a hot fit: wide-cut. According to goop.com, Paltrow and the British brand have taken The Marrakesh, MiH’s hot pick, and given it a new exclusive look. “Our favourite MiH fit is The Marrakesh – a wide-leg, super lengthening jean. Wanting the perfect colour for goop’s exclusive pair, we collaborated with MiH to develop unwashed pure denim: Real Blue. Over time and with wear, the colour will change naturally to become your own worn-in, faded favourite,” reads the goop statement. The 98% cotton and 2% Elastane fabric combination results in a soft pair of denim, and the leg-lengthening cut is modelled by Paltrow who wears a long-sleeve white shirt. “We love our MiH Marrakesh Jean in perfect blue denim: soft, timeless and flattering. We left them free from any distress for you to break them in naturally over time to achieve your own personal look and wash.”
According to the Telegraph, this is the ideal denim collaboration. “It’s been really exciting to design a special jean for goop as I’m completely addicted to their advice on life and all things lovely and it is a great match for MiH,” says Chloe Lonsdale, the brand’s founder and creative director. “The perfect blue jean is a wardrobe essential and this style will last a lifetime,” she says of the denim collaboration that now has Gwyneth Paltrow’s seal of fashion approval. MiH is already loved and worn by major A-listers, including Katie Holmes who’s been spotted in its Corky cut, January Jones in the Monaco, and Sarah Jessica Parker in the boyish LDN Boy Cropped denim.
