Could South Africa offer Martini its next big star?

The search is on for Martini’s future face, and two South African hopefuls are set to compete in the next phase of the Martini Royale Casting competition.
As part of its global campaign, Martini searched all four corners of the globe, and found 28 candidates. Two of them are proudly South African. Dannalize Clark and Sibongile Zanele Mlambo are heading to Ibiza, where one (or both) of them will hopefully secure a spot in the finals, set to take place in October.

The Martini Royale Casting winner will walk away with 12 pairs of coveted Christian Louboutin heels, 12 on-trend outfits from my-wardrobe.com and €150 000. After sifting through 3 500 applications, 23 countries will be represented in the Ibiza-located phase two of the competition. The judging panel includes iconic shoe designer, Christian Louboutin and Sarah Curran, my-wardrobe.com founder. “The caliber of talent is incredibly high and was difficult for me to make the decision to choose only 28 women. All the women have unique style, attitude and energy. I think these finalists really showcase the inspiring philosophy of Martini that 'Luck Is An Attitude'. It has been fun to find the right woman for Martini,” says Christian Louboutin.
The 28 hopefuls will spend a week in Ibiza. “I am so pleased to be able to personally offer a supportive role to the entrants in Ibiza. My one piece of advice for each of the finalists is to stay true to their own unique personal style and let their attitude shine through,” says Sarah Curran of my-wardrobe.com.

Named after the Martini Royale drink (comprising 50% Martini Bianco and 50% Martini Prosecco), the Martini Royale Casting is aimed at finding a woman who personifies the brand’s philosophy.
“We selected Ibiza as a location for this semi final stage of the campaign because it embodies a stylish energy that Martini is famed for. Ibiza is a real international player – stylish, playful and exciting,” says Arnaud Meysselle, Martini’s global brand director.
All 28 hopefuls will be filmed carrying out various challenges. Fans will be able to view the footage from September 4, by visiting www.facebook.com/martini. Fans are also invited to vote for their favourite finalist.
Although this time around the company is looking for a new face to headline its campaign, the winner will join the likes of SA’s Charlize Theron and Italian actress Monica Bellucci as the face of Martini.
