Michael Kors is set to launch a limited edition watch.
Michael Kors wants to keep you looking designer 24/7. He also wants you to know just how much he loves New York. So, he’s created a new designer watch. New York Runway is its name, and fans of the Michael Kors brand need to know that there are only 2 000 pieces available.
“New York is the absolute nexus of the smartest, most creative, unconventional, open-minded, curious and fast-moving people anywhere in the world,” Kors tells WWD.
Combining his passion for the city and the show that has turned him (and his brand) into a household name, Project Runway, New York Runway is all-things New York. The dial and case both feature New York City elements (skyline), and the price tag is designer-right at $650 (after all, it is a limited edition watch). Gold watches are nothing new to Kors, and New York Runway is a designer version of his classic timepiece that retails for $250.
After leaving Céline, Kors focused on the evolution of his eponymous line. Today, his luxury brand encompasses apparel, footwear, swimwear and accessories.
He’s dressed the likes of Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner, and continues to serve as judge on the reality television show, Project Runway, alongside Klum, Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia.
