Helena Christensen gives Triumph a supermodel appeal.
At 43, Helena Christensen can truly say that she has led quite a rich life. The 90s supermodel may have left the runway in favour of photography, but she certainly hasn’t lost her touch. Now, thanks to Triumph, she can also add lingerie designer to her impressive CV. Christensen has just completed the Helena Christensen for Triumph collection of lingerie that’s set to hit stores in early 2013. And, who better to bring the collection to life than its designer, naturally.

The nostalgic and romantic-themed campaign was photographed in her native Denmark, and Christensen directed the shoot. “I am delighted to create my own lingerie line together with Triumph. After three seasons with Triumph Essence, it was a real pleasure to design and create such great pieces of my own. I have put a lot of personal experience into the collection, selected all the fabrics and decided on all colours. I think this first collection is a reflection on what I have experienced and loved from my career and personal life,” she says in a statement.

The collection boasts several influences; 1940s femme fatale, 70s bohemia and 80 bondage. In an array of hues – including soft pastels (aqua and mauve-pink) and brights (orange and yellow) – the line also includes lace detail, high-waist knickers, camisoles and push-up bras. Although the brunette has collaborated with the world-renowned underwear giant before, this is the first collection she has designed in its entirety. The Helena Christensen for Triumph collection is due out in January 2013.
