Cape Town College of Fashion Design participated at the Design Indaba held at the CTICC in February this year.

Design Indaba showcases the best in South African design, innovation and creativity and as such, we believed it was the right fit for the College and its students.

Our team produced an outstanding, visually enticing stand at the exhibition using an original concept of creating wallpaper and fabric from students' design boards.

This theme continued through a repeat print on both the wallpaper and fabric creating a 'print on print' effect.

The fabric was also utilised to produce a basic garment fit toile to represent the patternmaking element of the design process.

The response to the stand design was remarkable and the College receiving an Honourable Mention for Stand Design at the Design Indaba Awards evening.

We were particularly delighted at the response to the fabric with a leading furniture design group requesting to use the fabrication.

The event was well supported by thousands of scholars and independents as well as local and international media, which is an ideal showcase for the College and its students.

We look forward to participating in this spectacular event again next year.
