Following seven years of unprecedented growth and expansion, FEDISA, South Africa's Leading Institute for a BA Degree in Fashion, recently relocated to its new state-of-the-art campus in Cape Town.

Known as the FEDISA Complex, sporting a seven storey tall branded red tower, the new campus has instantaneously become an unavoidable landmark on the Cape Town skyline. In addition to the innovative educational facilities that include a technologically advanced 109 seat custom-built lecture theatre, 45 seat iMac computer lab, spacious reference library with an outdoor reading room/zen garden, students at FEDISA also have access to a 1000 square metre event deck with sea and mountain views in the heart of South Africa's most cosmopolitan city.

The event deck offers students and visitors to FEDISA an inner city park experience like no other, with extensive lawns and a centre fountain court that doubles as a fashion runway and event stage.

The new FEDISA campus also offers students unrivalled security, with biometric access control and 24/7 camera surveillance, monitored by 28 HD cameras with facial recognition capabilities.

The new FEDISA campus also boasts some impressive eco-credentials, with all the glasing and structural wood reclaimed from the original building. From an energy perspective, intelligent design incorporates corridors to act as heat barriers between the outer shell of the building and the studios, dramatically reducing the expected energy comsumption of air-conditioning the extensive 3 500sqr metre space.

The student centre, Concept, offers the FEDISA fashion student a magnificently decorated dining environment in which to nourish both the senses and the palate. Daily catered meals, snacks and beverages are available and with direct access to the viewing deck, meals can also be enjoyed while bathing in the glorious Cape Town sunshine.

In addition to this new and phenomenal fashion education space, plans are already under development for the establishment of the 110 bed FEDISA Boutique Residence within the greater FEDISA Complex. Housing a laundry, two entertainment lounges, mini gym, internet café and snack bar, resident FEDISA students will never need to leave the campus, ensuring total personal safety.
