50 Footwear Design Grants up for grabs

[Johannesburg, 31 August 2012] - To top that - 30 Btech full scholarships will be available to the best students every year for the next three years.

The Footwear Design and Technology School (FDTS) in conjunction with students from Bloemhoff Girls High in Stellenbosch hosted the recent Heels for Horns shoe design competition in aid of the Baby Rhino Orphanage. The three winning designs walked away with 100% Grants to the FDTS's courses. The winning three shoes where auctioned off. The event raised over R 50 000 for the cause.

Glyn Giani the guest speaker at the event stressed the importance of creating jobs around these areas and using the footwear industry to do it. With this in mind he offered 50 grants of R12 000 each towards the FDTS's correspondence course. The applicants must preferably have a Dipoma. in Fashion Design or studying towards it.....what a nice add on. From this the FDTS will donate another R50 000 towards the Baby Rhino Orphanage.
