Nicole Morris
For the past
two and a half years Nicole Morris has been Director of the
House of Fashion. The House of Fashion is a creative ‘live’
space that holds various companies (All Source, Two Ten
Marketing, Only One, Little Black Dress and Cango & Rinaldi) who
provide different products to the fashion industry. Nicole
Morris is enthusiastic and committed about her work due to her
passion and love for the fashion industry.
Having
started in the fashion industry by chance in 2003, Nicole has
made a great success of herself, first by working in sales and
then climbing the corporate ladder to where she is now. Nicole
also worked for one of the
largest
design houses in Cape Town and gained extensive experience in
merchandising locally and internationally in both China and
India. This has proved invaluable experience for All Source who
produce, import and deliver trim (motives, belts, buttons and
garment items) for some of the largest retailers in South
Africa.
Nicole has
great admiration for every garment she sees hanging in stores
across the world as she understands the extreme effort and
talent it takes from a large team of passionate people. Nicole’s
dream is “the African fashion vision’ which is reviving the
local garment manufacturing industry. By creating work in the
industry will empower and enable businesses without the skills
or even the machines used in high-end manufacturing. In time,
Nicole hopes her dream of dignity and work for the South African
textile worker can be replicated in other parts of Africa too.
Nicole Morris always says:
‘fight for what you believe in and
never let go of your dream no matter how many obstacles are
thrown at you’
